Welcome to Kadimah Preschool!

Belonging, caring, learning

Kadimah Preschool is a unique Preschool co-located with Kadimah School, a school well known for its education and leadership achievements.

At Kadimah Preschool we create a warm and secure environment in which your child’s development and early education are encouraged and supported by the key Jewish values of learning, caring and charity, coupled with the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum – Te Whāriki.

Why Kadimah Preschool?

We treat all children and their families with respect.

We facilitate an environment in which every child can become a competent learner, express and explore their own ideas, investigate and follow their interests through play, experimentation and develop meaningful relationships.

We will positively guide and support each child as they develop their own special gifts for their future.

Our Jewish Program

Shabbat (Sabbath) is the Jewish day of rest. This is a very special day of the week and we celebrate it every Friday in Preschool. The children are encouraged to bring a coin for charity (Tzedakah) and we appreciate flowers to brighten our Shabbat table. The charity money that is collected is given to a worthy cause at the end of the term

T’filah can be translated as prayer, services, or individual prayer. Through song, arts and crafts and stories we bring the prayers and service to life.

The Hebrew language is integrated throughout all aspects of the curriculum and daily program. The children display interest and enthusiasm when learning and using Hebrew in the classroom and display joy with the satisfaction of being able to communicate in another language.

We learn about and celebrate the Jewish festivals and use these as opportunities for wider learning across the different curriculum areas. Preschool families are included in these celebrations. The preschool children also join with the school for many of the activities related to the Chagim. This includes a shared Seder for Pesach (Passover) and parade for Purim.

Our Results Speak for Themselves!

We measure the success of our school in terms of happiness, retention of students and ease of transition into big school. The fact that our staff are dedicated, our students enthusiastic and parents involved, helps achieve our objective.
